annual Cost of living
annual Cost of living
For the basis of our cost of living stats, we used the BC Cost of Living Calculator available online, which is built using data collected through the Economic Research Institute. For average salary, we sourced numbers from Montreal-based job search aggregate, Neuvoo, which was able to supply the most current salary information for each city. Other variables (vehicles, dependents, etc.) were kept constant to try and limit their influence on our results.
It wasn't our intention to have Penticton perform so amazingly on the graph above -- we even went out of our way to find significant contradictory statistics. Our methodology gave us the largest sample size for each specific city as reported through third party websites, updated end of April 2017. We know that the above graph does not represent every situation perfectly, but it should give you a good starting point for your own unique circumstance. Keep in mind that if you were to change the income value, but keep the other variables the same, the actual cost of living would remain unchanged.
